How did you come up with your name and number?
My friends have been calling me Belligerent Bex since I was a bad lil kid. I stole 20 from NY Mets slugger Pete Alonso because I love him.
When did you start playing roller derby/get involved with roller derby? How did you get involved?
I went to a Long Island Roller Rebels boot camp in October 2013. I had just moved to a new town and needed to meet people, and I had been to one of their games years before that. The rest was history.
What do you like to do after a game?
Win the after party.
What is some advice you’d give to someone who may be interested in joining roller derby?
Do it! It’s hard work but you’ll be coming back to derby for the rest of your life, and you’ll learn skills that will be so useful in everything else you do.
What is the one song you blast on game day to get you PUMPED?
I’ve been listening to It’s Not Right But It’s Okay (thunderpuss mix obvs) before games for so long that I have a pavlovian anxiety response when I hear it in any setting
How did you hear about the Big Easy Roller Derby?
The first time I ever visited New Orleans was when BERD hosted WFTDA Champs in 2018. Years later, I had just moved to town and needed to meet people, and I remembered that tournament. The rest was history. 😉
